Stop-Motion Animation Workshops Series / 2026 Summer Reading Unearth the Story
This summer, during July and August, 11 Libraries from the Main Library Alliance of NJ will participate in a summer workshop series to learn how to make stop-motion animations. Memory Vessel Studio designed the workshop series to pair with the Public Library’s 2026 Summer Reading program. This year’s theme is “Unearth the Story”.
Students grades 3-5th and grade 6-8th signed up to learn how to make stop motion animation from pre-made art elements, provided by Memory Vessel Studio.
They learned the basic steps to plan an animation, as well as learned how math is important in the process of making their movies. Then the hands-on play began, and students created silent movies limited only by their imagination.
This program is made possible by your library's membership in the Main Library Alliance and funds from Morris Arts through the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
